Grow-your-own gifts

If you know someone that loves growing their own food. We have a wide selection of presents in our garden centre: here are a few ideas.

Fruit pickers: Those maddening apples and plums growing at the top of the tree are no longer just for the wasps: long nets on telescopic handles make picking them a cinch.

Herb/ strawberry pots: We normally stock both terracotta and plastic versions. They have several planting holes that can carry an assortment of favourite herbs or strawberries.

Propagator: If they love to germinate their plants from seed, then they'll love a propagator.

Gardening books: New and expert gardeners alike always love a new gardening book.

Planted hanging baskets: In May/ June we often have both tumbling tomato and strawberry hanging baskets.

Hand care: After days toiling at the plot a gardener's hands are in serious need of TLC. A nailbrush, some good soap and a heavy-duty hand cream specially formulated for gardeners should put things right.

Gift Vouchers: If you want to let them pick their favourite new gardening item you can always buy them a gift voucher. We stock our own gift vouchers and National Garden Gift Vouchers.
